Kenyan parents and guardians will be making school fees payment through the e-Citizen platform, the Ministry of Education has announced through a circular addressed to principals.
The new form of fee payment is slated to start being active on February 6, 2024.
The school heads were therefore asked to provide the respective particulars of their schools to be aligned with the government system.
It should however be noted that the directive was addressed to the national schools.
Expected from the principals are their respective bank details.

According to the Ministry, the move would be in line with the government's agenda of onboarding all government services onto the e-Citizen platform to enhance service delivery.
"As part of compliance with the requirements it is directed that parents/guardians make fee payments for their learners in your institutions through this platform. In preparation for the launch, please provide all your institution's bank account details in the following format; 1. account name, 2. bank, 3. account number, 4. bank code, and 5. branch code.
Please ensure that the aforementioned information is submitted to the office of the Director General, State Department for Basic Education no later than February 6th, 2024 by email [email protected] and copying to: [email protected]," read the circular signed by Education PS Belio Kipsang.
