President William Ruto has nominated former Communications Authority Director General Ezra Chiloba as Consul General in the United States.
In a statement by State House Chief of Staff Felix Koskei on Friday, March 8, Chiloba has been nominated as the Kenyan Consul General for the State of Los Angeles.
“His Excellency the president has transmitted the nominations of High Commissioners, Ambassadors, and Permanent Representatives to the National Assembly for consideration and approval by Parliament in fulfillment of the legal requirements set out under our nation's supreme law,” read the statement in part.
Chiloba resigned as the CA Director General on October 18, 2023, after serving for two years. Before the resignation, Chiloba had been suspended from office on September 19 following a board meeting.
Chiloba was later replaced by former Head Of Presidential Communication Service David Mugonyi in the position.

Meanwhile, Ruto also appointed Catherine Kirumba as the High Commissioner to the United Kingdom, former Kisii Deputy Governor Joash Maangia as High Commissioner to Uganda, Vincent Mogaka to Ghana, and Lilian Tomitom to Zambia.
Fred Outa was nominated as the Kenyan ambassador to Egypt while Christopher Lang’at was nominated to Abidjan Cote d’Ivoire.
Other nominated ambassadors include; Anne Kisaka (Senegal), Timothy Kaluma (Algeria), Jessica Muthoni (Morocco), Halima Mucheke (Netherlands), David Kiplangat (USA), Everlyne Mwenda (Cuba), Moi Lemoshira (Japan) Jonah Mwangi (Iran) and Abdi Korio (Oman).
At the same time, Ruto nominated Caroline Mueke for appointment as the Secretary-General of the East African Community.
“The government of Kenya has, pursuant to Article 67 of the Treaty on Establishment of the East African Community, nominated Ms. Caroline Mwende Mueke for appointment by the Summit of the Heads of State as the Secretary-General of the East African Community,” Felix Koskei stated.
