Nandi Senator Samson Cherargei now wants National Assembly Majority Leader Kimani Ichung’wah removed from the position.
Speaking on Friday, June 14 in Ruai, Nairobi County, Cherargei claimed that Ichung’wah has become a divisive figure in the National Assembly and should be relieved from his duties.
“I want to the National Assembly that Kimani Ichung’wa no longer has the locus stand to be the majority leader. He has become a divisive figure in the National Assembly, in Parliament, and in Kenya. I urge members of the National Assembly to take the necessary steps to relieve him of his seat so that he can focus on abusing people,” the Nandi Senator stated.
Cherargei demanded that Ichung'wah respect Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua adding that he was losing respect for the presidency after he was spotted greeting President William Ruto while putting his hand in the pocket.
“I want to ask Kimani Ichung’wah to respect the Deputy President. We have seen him putting his hand in his pocket while greeting the President. He should be caned,” Cherargei added.

Ichung’wah and Gachagua have been in a war of words for the past few weeks over the one-man-one shilling revenue proposal and the Mt Kenya unity.
The DP has been championing the revenue formula to be adopted saying it would promote an equitable share of resources across the country.
On the other hand, Ichung’wah has discredited the proposal arguing that population cannot solely be used to determine their revenue share.
On June 10, the Kikuyu lawmaker told Gachagua that he is a national leader and therefore should unite all Kenyans instead of the Mt Kenya region alone.
“If we truly believe that we hold offices that bestow on you the role of being a symbol of national unity, seek to unite the people of Kenya not the people of Mt Kenya,” he said.
