According to Odinga, Arati was acting in self defense, and as such, he should not be treated as the culprit.

Former Prime Minister Raila Odinga has cleared Dagoretti North MP Simba Arati of any blame in his Monday fight with South Mugirango legislator Silvanus Osoro.

Speaking on Thursday during an interview with a vernacular radio station, Odinga noted that Osoro charged towards Arati forcing the latter to defend himself.

According to Odinga, Arati was acting in self-defense, and as such, he should not be treated as the culprit.

The ODM leader made the remarks after the National Cohesion and Integration Commission (NCIC) listen Arati, Osoro, ex-Nairobi Governor Mike Sonko and Emurua Dikirr legislator Johanna Ng’eno in its inaugural list of shame.

“I differ with the Commission over the move because there is the aggrieved and the aggressor. Osoro attacked Arati, who had no choice but to defend himself … it was a matter of self-defence,” he said.

According to NCIC, the four were named in the debut list of shame due to engaging in violence.

The agency further noted that the leaders are unfit to hold public office.

On the list of fame, NCIC had two MPs namely; Charity Kathambi (Njoro) and Abdikhaim Osman (Fafi).

On Monday this week, Arati and Osoro clashed at the burial of Kisii Deputy Governor Joash Maangi’s father attended by Deputy President William Ruto and Raila.
