Records from National Transport and Safety Authority have revealed the owner of the vehicle involved in an accident that killed a disabled man in Nyeri over the weekend.
According to records, one of the vehicles is owned by former Embu Senator Lenny Kivuti. However, it has not been established whether Kivuti was in the vehicle during the accident.
This comes at a time, police spokesperson Charles Owino stated that the identity of the vehicle owners was still unknown five days later.
Eyewitnesses account states that the first vehicle threw the victim, Chris Nderitu, off the wheelchair while two others that were closely following behind ran him over.
A witness at the scene recounted that a black Toyota Land Cruiser, hit the deceased first throwing him onto the road.

The second vehicle, a navy blue Toyota Land Cruiser, had government plates while the third, a white car of a similar make and model, also had a yet to be released GK number plate. According to police, these two cars ran over the victim.
Interestingly, the vehicles involved in the accident were not at the Narumoru police station. Only Nderitu’s mangled wheelchair was at the scene.
The vehicles were allegedly speeding while heading to President Uhuru Kenyatta's Sagana meeting with Mt.Kenya leaders.
Meanwhile, reports have emerged that on Tuesday night politicians led by Kieni MP Kanini Kega and a delegation led by a Cabinet secretary visited the deceased family.
The politicians are said to have donated cash amounting to about Sh100,000 towards the funeral arrangements.
“It is not our business to proclaim ourselves but the family is being taken care of. We are following up the matter to also ensure the insurance claim is made for the death that occurred,” Mr. Kega said.
The politicians also pledged to cater for the school fees of the deceased man’s son, who is in secondary school.
