Owalo was among the CSs who were fired by President Ruto and failed to make a comeback in the new broad-based cabinet.  

Former ICT Cabinet Secretary Eliud Owalo has broken his silence after President William Ruto appointed him as the Deputy Chief of Staff for Performance and Delivery Management.  

In a statement on Friday, August 23, Owalo thanked the Head of State for the appointment and promised to work with all stakeholders to enhance government performance. 

"It is with deep gratitude for the opportunity to serve our country that I sincerely thank President William Ruto for appointing me to the position of Deputy Chief of Staff responsible for performance and Delivery Management within the Government," said Owalo. 

He added, "Under the tutelage and close guidance of the President, I look forward to working with all stakeholders in strengthening the Performance Management framework within Government; inculcating a Results-Based Culture in the Public Service; and ensuring efficient and effective delivery of Government Priority Projects and programmes in line with the Bottom Up Economic Transformation Agenda (BETA)."

Owalo was among the cabinet secretaries who were fired by President Ruto and failed to make a comeback in the new broad-based cabinet.

At the same time, Ruto appointed former Public Service Cabinet Secretary Moses Kuria as a senior advisor in his Council of Economic Advisors. 

Dennis Itumbi was also appointed the head of Creative Economy and Special Projects in the Executive Office of the President.
