A fire has broken out at Ortum Boys High School in Kapenguria, West Pokot County, razing down one of the school's dormitories.
In photos and videos seen by Nairobileo.co.ke on Monday morning, September 9, a huge dark smoke was coming out of the dormitory as students scampered for safety.
Some of the students were seen carrying their mattresses as they vacated from the scene of the incident.
At the time of publishing this article, no fatalities were reported following the tragedy.
The cause of the fire is yet to be determined.

The incident at Ortum Boys High School comes barely days after incidents of fire were reported in some schools in the country.
On Thursday night, September 5, fire broke out at a dormitory in Hillside Endarasha Academy in Kieni, Nyeri County.
The incident has since resulted in the death of 21 pupils.
According to government spokesperson Isaac Mwaura, the cause of the deadly fire has not been conclusively determined.
In a Presidential Proclamation on September 6, President William Ruto announced a three-day period of national mourning from Monday, September 9, to Wednesday, September 11, in honour of the departed pupils.
In another incident, fire broke out at Isiolo Girls High School on Saturday night, September 7.
In an update by the Kenya Red Cross, the fire was later contained with the help of the Kenya Defence Forces (KDF) and the Kenya Airports Authority (KAA) fire brigade.
Three minor injuries were recorded following the tragedy.
