Wambua's impact on the women's game in Kenya is immense - CS Murkomen.

Ulinzi Starlets Head Coach Joseph Wambua Mwanza has passed away.

The news of his demise was shared by Sports and Youth Affairs cabinet secretary Kipchumba Murkomen on Friday, September 20.

In an update on social media platform X, Murkomen expressed his sorrow following Wambua's death, terming his impact on women's football as immense.

The CS also conveyed his condolences to the gaffer's family, Ulinzi Starlets and the entire Kenyan footballing community.

"Wambua's impact on the women's game in Kenya is immense, having led Ulinzi Starlets to three consecutive FKF Women's League titles. His legacy lives on in the sporting fraternity

"I extend my heartfelt condolences to Wambua's family, friends, Ulinzi Starlets, and the entire Kenyan footballing community. May God give the family fortitude to bear this great loss," Murkomen wrote on X.

Kenya Police Bullets FC also put out a statement mourning the 39-year-old saying his leadership turned Ulinzi Starlets into a formidable opponent.

"While we battled on the pitch, we held immense respect for his tactical brilliance and commitment to the game. His legacy will endure through the players he shaped and the thrilling encounters we shared. Our heartfelt condolences go out to Ulinzi Starlets and the entire football community during this difficult time," the football club said in a statement.

Football Federation of Kenya (FKF) presidential aspirant Hussein Mohammed also condoled with Ulinzi Starlets following the loss of their head coach.

"Our deepest sympathies are with Ulinzi Starlets Football Club as they grieve the loss of their head coach Joseph Wambua Mwanzia, wishing you peace and comfort during this sad time and may his legacy continue to inspire you all," he said in a statement on social media.
