Ferly made the remarks following the signing of the labour migration deal between Kenya and Germany.

Alexander Ferly, the Deputy Head of the German Embassy, has detailed that Kenyans seeking to work in Germany will need to have a basic understanding of the German language.

In a video posted by the Embassy, it was detailed that many companies required their employees to understand the language.

Ferly made the remarks following the signing of the labour migration deal between Kenya and Germany. The signing of the deal was witnessed by President William Ruto last week.

On the other hand, he noted that there was misinformation about the German jobs, adding that applicants need to meet various requirements before landing employment.

Kenyan government officials alongside representatives of a German Foundation display a signed MoU.

"There has been misinformation that visitors have been promised jobs. That is not correct."

"One of the basic requirements for most jobs in Germany is German Language Skills. That is why we have invited young Kenyans who speak German at a high level."

On the website, interested applicants will also discover more about the qualifications needed and the visa requirements for the applicants.
