My only problem with the president is being truthful because nobody else can tell him - Rigathi Gachagua.

Tourism and Wildlife Cabinet Secretary Rebecca Miano has lashed out at impeached Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua over his claims that no one tells President William Ruto the truth except him.

In a statement on Monday, October 21, Miano maintained that the Head of State listened to sound advice.

"I can authoritatively confirm that President Ruto listens to well thought out professional advice," Miano stated on X.

Speaking to the press on Sunday, October 20, Gachagua claimed that he is the only person who could stand President Ruto and tell him the truth.

The ousted deputy president further claimed that saying the truth was his only problem with the Head of State.

"My only problem with the president is being truthful because nobody else can tell him. I am the only man in the cabinet and the whole government who can stand up to President Ruto and tell him this is not right," Gachagua claimed.

He asserted that it has been difficult for him in the past year, alleging that the Head of State has betrayed him.

"As a Christian, I believed a fellow Christian that he will never betray me or my people. For the last one year, it has been very difficult for me but I'm a very persevering man. It is the most unfortunate thing that has ever happened in this country that you can be so vicious to a man who helped you to be president. And the crime of this man, telling you the truth," Gachagua claimed.

He further alleged that he is not feeling safe and that if anything happens to him, the Head of State should be held to account.

"It is unfortunate that when I was here in the hospital, my brother and friend President William Ruto ordered the withdrawal of my security. Officers who were close to me were disarmed and given a warning that they should not be anywhere near me. I didn't know President Ruto could be that vicious. If anything happens to me, President William Ruto should be held accountable," Gachagua remarked.
