The whereabouts of activist Boniface Mwangi are unknown after unidentified people picked him up from his home in Machakos county on Sunday, October 27.
Mwangi's alleged abduction was told by fellow activist and vocal Africa chief executive officer Hussein Khalid.
Khalid claimed the abductors could be people drawn from the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI).
"Just received reliable information that Boniface Mwangi has been abducted by unknown persons (probably sleuths from the DCI) and taken to an unknown destination. He was picked up from his family home In Ukambani (Courage Base) around 7am," Khalid revealed via X.
Khalid's pronouncement was corroborated by Sema Ukweli, Mwangi's media organisation, which claimed the activist was apprehended by six officers attached to the regime.

"At 7:15 this morning, six state agents forcefully abducted Boniface Mwangi from his home in Lukenya and took him to an unknown destination. It's concerning that abductions of citizens continue unabated despite assurances by President William Ruto that his government adheres to the rule of law," posted Sema Ukweli.
The activist's wife, Njeri Mwangi, also confirmed that her husband was forcefully picked up from his home, the uniformed abductors driving with him to an unknown destination.
"This morning at around 7.15, six uninformed people went to courage base and forcefully took my husband Boniface Mwangi from the house. I have no idea who, why, or where they have taken him," she revealed via X.
Using the #FreeBonifaceMwangi banner, Kenyans camped on X to demand the release of the activist, who had called for a mass action march on Sunday, the day he was taken from his home.
Mwangi had mobilised Kenyans to infiltrate the Standard Chartered Nairobi Marathon and use it to demand political and governance change.
His abduction adds to the string of many others since the start of the revolt against the current regime.
He was abducted days after blogger Francis Gaitho, another anti-Ruto regime social media activist, was picked up from his house in Nairobi's Westlands area.
Gaitho was held incommunicado for hours before his arraignment at a Nairobi court.
The rising cases of abductions, forced disappearances, and extrajudicial killings seem to negate President Ruto's pledge to disband state entities that undertake them.
While seeking office, the president vowed to adhere to the rule of law and end the spree of persecutions and killings perpetrated against voices that dissent from the state.
