Higher Education Principal Secretary Dr. Beatrice Inyangala.

Higher Education Principal Secretary Dr. Beatrice Inyangala maintained that officials from the State Department will be at Moi University to welcome back the students.

"Moi University reopens! This is the schedule of activities leading to the reopening of Moi University. The State Department for Higher Education and Research will be at Moi University on Friday, November 8, 2024, to welcome the students back to the university," Inyangala stated.

On October 3, Moi University was closed indefinitely following a prolonged lecturers' strike that led to the strike of the students.

The lecturers and workers at the institution downed their tools over delayed salaries, something that crippled learning at the university.

Meanwhile, on Friday, November 1, Moi University refuted reports that it was planning to transfer its students to other universities over allegations of financial difficulties.

Moi University VC Kosgei stated that the institution was committed to providing quality education and ensuring that students continued with learning smoothly without disruption.
