Police in Kahawa West, Kasarani Sub-County, are investigating an incident where a 33-year-old woman was found dead inside her boyfriend's house.

The deceased, Lilian Aluko, was found dead on Friday, November 1, with injuries to her face and a stab wound behind her right ear.

The 33-year-old, who was a presenter at Radio 44, is alleged to have been killed by her boyfriend who is on the run.

Recounting moments before the murder, Aluko's mother disclosed that her daughter left home at around 11:00 a.m. on Thursday and informed them that she was going to visit her boyfriend.

However, she did not return on that day until the family received a call on Friday regarding her demise.

“She left the house at around 11:00 a.m. and told me she was going to her friend's place. She did not return. On Friday, some minutes to 9 o'clock, I received a call from an unknown number," the mother explained.

She added, "The suspect is someone I know. I have seen him and he has come to my house twice."

According to a police report, the victim and the suspect had returned home from a local entertainment joint and soon after, neighbours reported hearing sounds of a violent altercation but were unable to intervene as the house was locked.

A knife believed to be the murder weapon was recovered at the scene.

The incident comes even as President William Ruto called on the public to be vigilant after the recent rising cases of femicide as he asked investigative agencies to bring perpetrators to book.

On Sunday, November 3, President Ruto claimed that the country was facing both a criminal and moral problem.

"How can it be that our girls who expect us to love them are now dying in the hands of men? We have a criminal and moral problem. We need to address both of them," President Ruto remarked.
