According to DCI, on the day of Aluko's murder, the two are said to have spent some time at a local establishment before retiring to Mutegi's house in Kahawa West for the night.

However, DCI said neighbours would later hear loud screams from Mutegi's house but it would quickly be deafened by loud noise from his sound system.

"In an ugly turn of events, the attention of the neigbours was drawn to loud screams from Mutegi's locked house, which were quickly deafened by loud noise from his sound system. Unaware that the distress call was the last Achieng would ever make, the neighbours went back to their houses hoping that the duo would resolve their issues. That night, the life of a 33-year-old lady with a blossoming career as a presenter at a local radio station was ended," the DCI stated.

DCI noted that Mutegi is currently under police custody, awaiting arraignment in a court of law.

The deceased, Lilian Aluko, was found dead on Friday, November 1, with injuries to her face and a stab wound behind her right ear.

The 33-year-old, who was a presenter at Radio 44, is alleged to have been killed by her boyfriend.

Recounting moments before the murder, Aluko's mother disclosed that her daughter left home at around 11:00 a.m. on Thursday and informed them that she was going to visit her boyfriend.

However, she did not return on that day until the family received a call on Friday regarding her demise.
