Following the passing of the motion, the MPs will sit on additional days including Mondays and Fridays.

National Assembly Speaker Moses Wetangula on Tuesday, November 19 announced that the House Business Committee proposed additional days for National Assembly Sittings ahead of the festivities.

In his address to MPs, Wetangula explained that the move would enable the House to deliberate on various legislative matters and debate the scheduled State of Nation Address by President William Ruto.

Following the passing of the motion, the MPs will sit on additional days including Mondays and Fridays.

The additional sessions include Monday, November 25, 2024, commencing at 2.30 pm for the afternoon sitting and 6.45 pm for the evening sitting, and Friday, November 29, 2024, commencing at 9.30 am for the morning sitting.

MPs will also be sitting on Monday, December 2, 2024, commencing at 2.30 pm for the morning sitting.

Meanwhile, Ruto is scheduled to give his State of the National Address on Thursday, November 21 2024 from 2.30 pm.

SGR Directive

On the other hand, the Speaker informed MPs of the scheduled EALA Parliamentary games to be hosted in Mombasa.

Consequently, in line with cost-saving measures, Wetangula informed the MPs that they would be required to travel by SGR.

He explained that SGR was cost-effective and would enable most of the MPs to travel.

"You will travel to Mombasa by SGR. You will organise with the clerk's office to facilitate the travel on the day that you choose," he announced.

The EALA games will be held from December 6 to December 18, 2024.
