In her video, she shared some of the things that she will never forget about Kenya.

Outgoing US Ambassador Meg Whitman bid her final farewell to Kenyans on Friday, November 22, as her tenure in Kenya officially ended.

In a video posted by the social media account, the diplomat shared her working experience in Kenya since her deployment in 2022.

Notably, she took the opportunity to thank Kenyans for their welcoming spirit, revealing that she had made many friends in the last two years.

"There are so many things that I will treasure about my time in Kenya. From the beautiful landscape to the dynamic economy. But most of all, I will remember the people of Kenya who welcomed me with unparalleled hospitality," she remarked.

Concerning her legacy while in office, Whitman expressed that she had done a remarkable job in marketing Kenya as an investment hub.

She noted that many American investors had already invested in Kenya, adding that the country had a lot of potential.

"Since arriving in 2022, I have travelled to 28 counties and I have seen first-hand how the United States and Kenya are working together to build a stronger future for both our countries," the diplomat stated.

"I began my time as an ambassador giving speeches posing the question of why Africa and why Kenya. Nobody is asking that anymore because the word is out."

Whitman resigned as the US Ambassador to Kenya following the election of Donald Trump in the November elections.
