The National Police Service (NPS) has commenced investigations into the fracas that was witnessed at a funeral attended by former Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua in Limuru.
In a statement dated Friday, November 29, NPS detailed that a team of investigators were interviewing the family of the deceased to establish what transpired during the Thursday event.
The police asserted that all perpetrators and sponsors of the violence would be brought to book.
"DCI Limuru has commenced investigations into the matter to establish the cause of the fracas and bring to book, the perpetrators behind this insensitive act. The Officers are currently on the ground recording statements from family members of the deceased," read the statement in part.

"We call upon anybody with information that may aid in the arrest of the suspects that invaded the burial to report to the nearest police station, even as we reaffirm our commitment to serve and protect all Kenyans."
Meanwhile, NPS clarified that former Limuru Member of Parliament Peter Mungai Mwathi had not been arrested.
According to the police, the former lawmaker is not even a person of interest to the police.
"The incident happened at the time former Limuru Member of Parliament, Hon. Peter Mungai Mwathi was addressing mourners at Bibirioni Boys High School, Limuru, when unknown individuals started hurling objects and chairs, forcing mourners to scamper for safety," NPS stated.
"Consequently, property of unknown number and value was damaged, but so far, we have received a report from only one complainant."
The clarification by NPS came after Gachgau's allies camped outside the DCI Headquarters seeking to establish the whereabouts of the former lawmaker.
The allies of the former DP had alleged that Mwathi had been abducted by police officers.
On his part, Gachagua claimed that the chaos was planned to cause him physical harm.
