Former Prime Minister Raila Odinga has opined that there is no handshake between his ally, Former President Uhuru Kenyatta and President William Ruto.
Speaking during an interview on Friday, December 27, the ODM party boss explained that there was no written agreement between the duo.
According to Raila, a handshake only happens once parties agree on certain conditions, sign a document and announce it to Kenyans as was the case in 2018 between him and Uhuru.
In response to the appointment of Uhuru allies to the Cabinet, the former Premier noted that the appointments were part of Ruto's strategy to broaden the government.

"Uhuru just greeted Ruto. They never said that it was a handshake to work together. That has not been the case. When Ruto said that he wanted to form a government that was representative of the rest of the country, he got some people from ODM and now he got people from Jubilee.
"That in itself is not a handshake. If there is any handshake it will be based on things that have been negotiated and agreed on and then announced formally," he added.
Meanwhile, he maintained that there was no handshake between him and Ruto despite the appointment of ODM members to the cabinet.
"I do not have a handshake with Ruto because we have not agreed on a written document," he added.
Ruto met Uhuru at his Ichaweri home in Gatundu on December 9. 10 days later, Ruto reorganised his cabinet and appointed three allies of the former President.
Mutahi Kagwe was nominated to the Agriculture docket while William Kabogo and Lee Kinyanjui were nominated to the ICT and Trade docket.
