The Senator also called for the resignation of top security officials should they fail to ascertain the location of the abducted Kenyans.

Busia Senator Okiya Omtatah has filed a petition in court seeking to compel security agencies to produce Kenyans who have been abducted dead or alive.

In the petition filed at the Kibera Law Court on Monday, December 30, the senator listed 7 persons who were allegedly abducted by security organs.

The 7 listed in the application were Billy Mwangi, Gideon Kibet, Ronny Kiplagat, Peter Muteti, Bernard Kavuli, Steve Kavingo Mbisi and Kelvin Muthoni.

"In the alternative, the respondents should explain why the said in applicants should not be released on bond or bail," read the application in part.

Further, the Senator called for the resignation of top security officials should they fail to ascertain the location of the abducted Kenyans.

"The Inspector General of Police, the DCI and the Director of NIS, if it is thru that they do not know heat is happening, they should resign," he added.

"We cannot allow this form of incompetence to happen. We cannot allow such sabotage of the security of the Kenyan people."

Meanwhile, the Director of Public Prosecutions (DPP) Renson Ingonga gave the Inspector General of Police Douglas Kanja three days to investigate the abductions.

"I have, pursuant to Article 157 (4) of the Constitution, directed both the Inspector General of Police and the IPOA to expedite the investigations touching on reported cases of abductions and alleged forced disappearance of citizens, and forward the resultant files for perusal and action, and/or provide an update on the investigations, within three (3) days from the date hereof," the DPP directed.
