The Kenya Meteorological Department has warned of high daytime temperatures to be witnessed in six regions.

In its weather forecast dated Tuesday, December 31, Kenya Met noted that the six regions would experience daytime temperatures exceeding 30 Degrees Celcius.

The listed regions were Coast, North-Eastern and North-Western Kenya.

The high temperatures will also be witnessed in parts of the Rift Valley, Lake Victoria Basin, and South-Eastern Lowlands.



"Average daytime (maximum) temperatures of more than 30°C will be experienced over the Coast, North-eastern, North-western Kenya and parts of the Highlands West of the Rift Valley, South Rift Valley, Lake Victoria Basin and South Eastern lowlands," read the projections in part.

"Average night-time (minimum) temperatures will be less than 10°C in some parts of the Highlands East of the Rift Valley, Central and South Rift Valley and South Eastern lowlands."

Therefore, Kenyans were advised to keep warm during the night and hydrate during the day when there are high temperatures.

On the other hand, Kenya Met noted that parts will experience rain during the first week of January. However, most parts of the country are expected to be dry.

"Most parts of Kenya will experience sunny and dry weather throughout the week," Kenya Met added.

"Occasional rainfall may occur over the Coastal region, isolated areas of the South-Eastern Lowlands, and the Highlands East of the Rift Valley."
