Detectives from the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) have arrested the Director of Motorshop East Africa Ltd. over a series of fraudulent schemes.
In a statement on Thursday, January 2, the DCI disclosed that the suspect, Meshack Kipleting Tarbei, had been on the run for over a year after allegedly defrauding multiple unsuspecting victims.
The directorate indicated that the suspect closed his shop, which was located at Marsabit Plaza along Ngong Road, and went into hiding after nine victims filed complaints at Kilimani Police Station.
"Detectives drawn from DCI Kilimani have arrested Meshack Kipleting Tarbei - a serial fraudster and Director of Motorshop E.A. Ltd. who has been hiding for over a year after fleecing unsuspecting members of the public their hard-earned money.
"Kipleting, whose office was located at Marsabit Plaza along Ngong Road, closed shop and went into hiding with nine victims having reported his unlawful acts at Kilimani Police Station," DCI remarked.

The detectives nabbed the suspect at his hideout at King Serenity Estate in Rongai and he was taken into police custody pending arraignment.
"Upon receipt of the complaints, detectives sprang into action in search of the villain who was smoked out of his hideout at King Serenity Estate in Rongai where he was escorted to DCI Kilimani offices for processing pending arraignment," DCI stated.
According to the directorate, detectives believe more complainants may have made their reports on the suspect at different police stations across Nairobi and they are consolidating them to ensure justice.
