Education Cabinet Secretary Julius Ogamba has dismissed reports of resigning from President William Ruto's administration.
In a statement on Monday, January 13, Ogamba warned Kenyans of a malicious X account that was impersonating him and spreading false information.
The CS flagged a statement that had been shared by the account purporting that he had resigned from his position, citing displeasure in the recent abductions and disappearances of Kenyans.
“Beware of a fake X account purporting to be the Cabinet Secretary for Education,” Ogamba remarked.
His clarification comes hours after the Head of Government Delivery Services (GDS) Peter Mbae tendered his resignation.

In a letter to the Chief of Staff and Head of the Public Service Felix Koskei, Mbae noted that his stay in the position was no longer tenable.
He claimed that he had repeatedly raised several issues with the Head of the Public Service, but they remain unresolved.
"Despite my passion, focus, and consistency, for reasons and issues that I have consistently brought to your attention and have not been resolved to date, it has not been possible to carry out my duties as intended, and my position as Head of Government Delivery Services is no longer tenable.
"In order to be accountable to the people of Kenya, owing to the fact that the appointment was widely circulated, I therefore request to formally disengage from this appointment so as to pursue other interests," read part of the letter.
However, the Government Delivery Unit (GDU) maintained that Mbae ceased to hold the position in July 2024.
It explained that this was due to the dissolution of the Cabinet at the time, as his tenure was tied to the portfolio of the then Cabinet Secretary for Public Service, Moses Kuria.
“Dr. Peter Mbae ceased being an employee of the Government Delivery Services (GDS) on 11th of July 2024 following the dissolution of the Cabinet since his tenure at the GDS was tied to the portfolio of the then Cabinet Secretary for Public Service, Performance and Delivery Management, Hon. Moses Kuria.
“It is therefore misleading and inaccurate to portray his departure as a resignation occurring in January 2025. A formal communication with regards to the end of his contract was made to him on the 24th of July 2024 by the then Principal Secretary in charge of the State Department for Performance and Delivery Management,” read a statement by GDU.
