Jackson Kuria alias Cop Shakur has asked Kenyans of goodwill to intervene after he was arrested and charged in court.
In a statement dated Thursday, January 15, the police officer revealed that he was charged at the Milimani Law Courts.
He added that his phone and line were confiscated, further, calling on Kenyans to help him raise money for his cash bail.
"Am currently at at Mililani Law Court. The DCI denied me a phone call. They have my phone and line. Am calling upon the public to help me raise my cash bail," he stated.

According to human rights activist Hussein Khalid, the officer was charged with mutiny.
"So they’ve charged Cop Shakur with mutiny. Mutiny is an open rebellion against the proper authorities, especially by soldiers or sailors against their officers," he stated.
"For standing with GenZ, they’re now calling it mutiny?"
Cop Shakur rose to fame during the June 2024 protests when he joined other Kenyans in protest against the Finance Bill 2024.
He was arrested by DCI at his place of work on Wednesday, January 16.
