"We are with his family at the hospital, and as of 11:02 p.m., our brother is still alive, fighting for his life at the ICU at Aga Khan Hospital, Nairobi. Ignore any rumors going around," he added.
Injendi has represented Malava Constituency in the National Assembly since 2013.
Prior to his political career, he served as a lecturer at the Catholic University of East Africa.
Injendi's political journey began in 2013 when he was elected as the Member of Parliament (MP) for Malava Constituency on the Maendeleo Democratic Party (MDP) ticket.
He successfully defended his seat in 2017 under the Jubilee Party. In the 2022 general elections, he retained his position on the Amani National Congress (ANC) ticket.
In February 2023, a Kakamega court dismissed a petition challenging his 2022 election victory, thereby affirming his position as the MP for Malava.
Throughout his tenure, Injendi has been recognized for his mobilization skills, often drawing significant crowds to his rallies.
He is also the founder of the Malulu Injendi Foundation, a non-governmental organization aimed at supporting various community initiatives.
