Labour and Social Protection Cabinet Secretary Alfred Mutua has announced that the National Job Recruitment Program will remain suspended until further notice.

“The Ministry of Labour and Social Protection wishes to inform the public that the National Job Recruitment Program was suspended on 27th November 2024 and remains on hold until further notice.

“Despite the official announcement made across all Ministry communication channels and my social media platforms, reports indicate that some individuals are still turning up at recruitment stations,” read part of the statement.

The Labour CS noted that the only ongoing recruitment exercise is the Kisumu recruitment drive, which is scheduled for Friday, February 7, 2025, to Saturday, February 8 2025, on the sidelines of the Nyanza Investment Conference.

CS Mutua advised Kenyans to disregard the recruitment drive which was scheduled to run until February 20, 2025.

“There are currently no other active recruitment activities under the Ministry’s mandate. Members of the public are therefore advised to disregard the earlier recruitment schedule, which was set to run until 20th February 2025, and to rely solely on official communication from the Ministry for any future updates,” Mutua added.

Additionally, the Labour CS said the Ministry would communicate details on the next steps in due course.
