Kahiga warned Governor Kang’ata that he risks losing re-election if he fails to align with former Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua.

Nyeri Governor Mutahi Kahiga is on the spot after he attacked his Murang’a counterpart Irungu Kang’ata.

Speaking on Monday during the burial of Laikipia Senator John Kinyua’s father William Nderitu in Kiamariga, Laikipia County, Kahiga warned Governor Kang’ata that he will not be re-elected if he does not align with former Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua.

The Nyeri county boss pointed out that Kanga’ta’s move to provide porridge to the needy will not secure his re-election as the Murang’a locals will follow the direction that Gachagua will declare.

He also told Governor Kang’ata that it was time he stopped sitting on the fence and instead, makes his stand.

“You will give porridge, but you will go home, for us, we will go wherever Gachagua directs us to,” Kahiga told Kang’ata.

Kahiga’s remarks did not sit well with a section of Kenyans who wondered why he was attacking Governor Kang’ata.

A section of Kenyans said it was wrong for performing leaders to be threatened with being sent home simply for not aligning with their region's political kingpins.
