Embakasi East MP Babu Owino has expressed his willingness to support President William Ruto’s administration as long as it effectively serves the Kenyan people.
In an interview on Wednesday, February 12, the MP emphasized his commitment to his oversight role, vowing to hold the government accountable if it fails to deliver on its promises.
"If Ruto works today, I have no problem supporting him, if he doesn’t work it is my role as an MP to keep him in check, to ensure that he delivers," he said.
During the same interview, Babu launched a scathing critique of Nairobi Governor Johnson Sakaja, accusing him of underperforming and being an embarrassment to young leaders.

The outspoken MP expressed his frustrations as both a political rival and a Nairobi resident who expects effective governance.
"I am happy for my brother, Sakaja is a young man like myself, we might differ ideologically but nothing personal. We differ because I am also a resident of Nairobi who expects services, who pays taxes in Nairobi and should be served by the Governor like any other Nairobian.
"Sakaja being a young person is an embarrassment to the young people because of what has been done. Several research firms have ranked Sakaja in the bottom ten. I must push him to ensure he delivers to Nairobians," he said.
In the same breath, Babu highlighted his own political ambitions, declaring himself overqualified for most political seats.
"I am overqualified in this nation, my age mates are already presidents. I am overqualified to be the President of the Republic of Kenya. I have all the instruments necessary: the political acumen available, the passion and energy I have and the third thing I have is the intellect. I am overqualified to be: a President, Governor, and a member of the National Assembly," he stated.
