The US Embassy in Nairobi has flagged a letter addressing an alleged meeting between President William Ruto and Al Shabaab as fake.
Through its official social media handles, the Embassy on Friday, February 14 noted that the letter, which was attributed to it, did not emanate from the Embassy.
Therefore, Kenyans were called upon to ignore the fake letter.
Notably, the Embassy's response came after some online users shared the letter on their social media handles.

How to Verify Information
Kenyans can verify authentic communication from the US Embassy on their social media pages that are verified.
On the other hand, important communication is usually shared on the Embassy's website - https://ke.usembassy.gov/.
