Thirdway Alliance Party leader Ekuru Aukot has predicted that Edwin Sifuna will not be reelected as the senator for Nairobi in the 2027 elections.
In an interview on Thursday, February 20, Aukot attributed Sifuna’s potential loss to what he described as chest-thumping, a trait he claims is synonymous with Sifuna and the entire Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) party.
“Sifuna will not be the next Senator of Nairobi; this chest-thumping which I see from both Sifuna and ODM is really what even cost Raila the AUC position.
"This chest thumping is the reason they have never won an election; this chest thumping is the reason they have never proposed any constitutional amendment," he said.
Aukot also discussed plans to accommodate Raila Odinga in government, predicting a referendum to create a position for the Azimio leader.

"Kenya Kwanza is a failed government. I predict a referendum or BBI to accommodate Raila Odinga, a politician known for creating noise to mobilize people on the streets," he stated.

Meanwhile, during the same interview, Sifuna dismissed any possibility of ODM forming an alliance with President William Ruto, stating that even with ODM’s support, Ruto would still lose in 2027.
“Even if ODM supports President Ruto in the 2027 elections, he will still lose. We will only form alliances with political parties that are like-minded and pro-people, not those that are incompetent,” he said.
Sifuna emphasized his commitment to the party's principles, wondering how someone would vote for Ruto considering the suffering he has brought to Kenyans.
"How can you re-elect Ruto to spite and punish the ‘mama mbogas’? Ruto is supporting Raila because he knows Kenyans love him. I will not vote for Ruto in 2027 even if Raila tells us to do so," he added.
