Members of the committee include; Danson Buya Mungatana, Mohamed Abass Sheikh, Boni Khalwale, Olekina Ledama, Ekomwa James Lomenen, and  Edwin Sifuna.

This comes days after former Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua’s allies were de-whipped from various lucrative Senate committees.

Murang’a Senator Joe Nyutu was axed from the Senate Education Committee while Kiambu Senator Karungo Thangwa who was holding the position of Roads and Transport Committee chairperson was removed from the position.

Kirinyaga Senator James Murango was kicked out as the Agriculture Committee Chair and Nyandarua Senator John Methu was axed from the Environment and Natural Resources Committee where he served as the chairman.

Also removed from the committees are Kisii Senator Richard Onyonka, Busia Senator Okiya Omtatah, and Lenku Seki of Kajiado.

The roles are set to be rewarded to allies of former Prime Minister Raila Odinga in a move to cement the broad-based government political deal between Odinga and President William Ruto.
