The Kenya Revenue Authority (KRA) has announced scheduled system maintenance on Sunday, March 2, 2025.
In a statement on Thursday, February 27, KRA said the maintenance will disrupt the iTax, iCMS, and Payment Gateway systems and all users will not be able to access them for six hours.
The taxman noted that the maintenance will start on Sunday at 12:00 AM and end at 6:00 AM.
“The Kenya Revenue Authority (KRA) informs all stakeholders of scheduled maintenance of the iTax, iCMS, and Payment Gateway systems as follows: START: Sunday, 2nd March 2025, 12:00 AM. END: Sunday, 2nd March 2025, 6:00 AM.
“During this period, the iTax, iCMS, and Payment Gateway systems will be unavailable to all users. Any inconvenience caused is highly regretted,” KRA stated.

The scheduled maintenance comes after the authority announced four major updates to its Electronic Tax Invoice Management System (eTIMS) aimed at enhancing taxpayer experience and simplifying compliance.
KRA noted that the key changes include self-onboarding for taxpayers, the ability to use multiple eTIMS solutions simultaneously, improved invoice accessibility across different platforms, and enhanced integration with third-party systems.
"The system upgrade allows for self-onboarding by eliminating the requirement for eTIMS approval of taxpayer applications by KRA. This means that taxpayers can now apply for any of the available eTIMS solutions without requiring intervention from KRA. The taxpayer will receive a text message confirming the application as being successful," KRA said.
