A contingent of police officers from the General Service Unit (GSU) has been deployed at Jesus Winner ministry church in Roysambu, Nairobi ahead of the planned 'OccupyJesusWinner' protests.
Photos seen by Nairobileo.co.ke showed the GSU officers standing at the entry of the church with batons while others surrounded the church building.

This comes after a section of Kenyans vowed to storm the church premises to protest against President William Ruto’s pledge to donate Ksh20 million to the church.

The angry Kenyans have created a hashtag, #OccupyJesusWinner on X platform to rally support ahead of the protests.
The group has not only questioned the source of President Ruto’s donation but also accused Jesus Winner Ministry of misleading Kenyans ahead of the 2027 General Election.

President Ruto on Sunday, March 2 pledged a personal donation of Ksh20 million to support the church's expansion efforts.
The Head of State also committed to organizing a fundraiser with his associates to raise an extra Ksh100 million for the church's construction project.
“I will donate Ksh20 million first, and we will plan a harambee with my friends to raise Sh100 million in support. This church will be built so that we embarrass the enemy of this country," he said.
His pledge did not sit well with Kenyans who expressed concerns about the origins of such large donations.

On Thursday, the church clarified that it is yet to receive President Ruto’s Ksh20 million donation.
The church also noted that the President made the donation following a request by their pastor.
"We wish to clarify that Ruto has been a faithful worshipper since 2009. The President's pledge is a support of Ksh20 million, following a request made by our general overseer Edward Mwai," Jesus Winner church secretary, Raphael Mweti stated.
