Embakasi North Member of Parliament now blames former Prime Minister Raila Odinga for the impeachment of former Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua.
Speaking on Tuesday, March 11, Gakuya said that Gachagua would still be the Deputy President if Odinga did not support his removal.
The UDA MP slammed the ODM leader saying he has made people who fought for the Kenya Kwanza government casualties adding that Odinga is now enjoying the benefits of a battle he never fought.
“Raila made a move to purge Gachagua out of the government. Otherwise, without Raila's support, Gachagua would still be the Deputy President of this country.
“He has made some people become casualties yet they fought vigorously for this government to attain what it is today. Raila is coming in to reap the fruits of what he never fought for,” said Gakuya.

The Embakasi North MP’s remarks come days after President William Ruto signed a 10-point MoU with Odinga at the Kenyatta International Conference Centre (KICC).
In the agreement, the two leaders will work to implement the NADCO report and address issues such as unemployment and corruption while pushing for initiatives to strengthen devolution.
The two leaders also agreed on the inclusivity of all Kenyans regardless of ethnicity, religion, and geographic location.
Gachagua was impeached on October 18, 2024, after the Senate upheld the impeachment done by the National Assembly.
The impeachment grounds listed in the motion tabled by Kibwezi West MP Mwengi Mutuse included gross violation of the constitution and undermining the President and the Cabinet among others.
