The Kenya National Council Examination Council (KNEC) has come out to explain why some examiners who administered the 2024 national examination have not received their payment.
In a notice on Wednesday, March 12, KNEC said one of the issues affecting the payment disbursement is name mismatch.
KNEC noted that the CP2 name and M-Pesa name of the phone number provided by the examiners must match.
To resolve the issue, the council urged affected examiners to create a new CP2 account with a registered Safaricom (M-Pesa) number matching their ID details.
KNEC also pointed out that missing ID numbers or TSC numbers of the examiners resulted in them not receiving their payment.

The examiners were urged to log in to the CP2 portal and update their details with the correct data.
According to KNEC, another issue affecting the payments was missing documentation. The council said that attendance registers were not submitted or were submitted but lacked official stamps and signatures.
To resolve the issue, KNEC said center managers should download the attendance registers from the CP2 portal, verify the details, sign, stamp, and submit them to the Sub-County Director of Education (SCDE), who will forward the updated documents to KNEC.
Further, the council highlighted that some contracted examiners worked during the examination period but were not deployed in the CP2 portal.
KNEC explained that the examiners will have to contact their SCDE and register their queries for onward submission to KNEC.
“Include the following: - Year invigilated or supervised, exam invigilated or supervised, code of centre invigilated or supervised, name of officer, role in the exam/assessment centre and Safaricom M-Pesa number that matches your ID details,” KNEC stated.
Additionally, KNEC said the disbursement of the payments is being affected by slow response to KNEC requests for facilitation of data and late delivery of accurate and complete Contracted Professionals’ data.
“KNEC processes complete and accurate data as it is received. Clean up your data and resend through the SCDE,” KNEC added.
