Thirteen people have been confirmed dead after a tragic road accident at Migaa black spot along the Nakuru-Eldoret Highway.
The accident occurred on Friday at around 2 AM and involved a matatu and a trailer ferrying coffee seeds.
Preliminary reports indicate that the trailer, which was heading to Eldore,t experienced brake failure, lost control, and rammed into the matatu trapping the passengers on board.
As a result, all the occupants in the matatu died on the spot, and two others who were in the lorry.
Emergency responders were deployed to the site, however they could not help the victims.

The bodies of the deceased have been moved to the mortuary pending autopsy and investigations.
Meanwhile, National Police Service Spokesperson Michael Muchiri has called on motorists to be cautious while approaching the Migaa area on the Nakuru-Eldoret Highway.
“That area is a known black spot, and we urge motorists to be cautious when approaching there,” said Muchiri.
The Kenya Red Cross has set up a tracing and psychosocial support desk at the Molo Sub-County Hospital Funeral Home to help the families of the victims.
“We have set up a tracing desk and a psychosocial support (PSS) desk at Molo Sub-County Hospital Funeral Home to help families cope with the loss and trauma. Our thoughts are with all those affected,” Red Cross stated.
The incident came hours after a foreign national died during an accident along Ngong Road on Thursday.
The foreigner was crossing the road when he was hit by a vehicle in President William Ruto's convoy.
The incident took place around Adams Arcade as the President was heading for a tour in Kibra.
The police launched investigations into the accident and asked Kenyans who witnessed the incident to aid in the investigations by providing information.
"Following a road traffic accident that occurred today at Adams Arcade along Ngong Road involving a government vehicle, which resulted in the death of a pedestrian who is a foreign national, the National Police Service (NPS) is now handling the matter, and investigations have commenced," NPS said in a statement.
