The weather projections also cover Naivasha where Kenya is hosting the 2025 World Rally Championship (WRC).


The Kenya Meteorological Department has projected rains for most parts of the country, including Nairobi for the next five days.

In the weather forecast covering Saturday, March 22 to Wednesday, March 26, Kenya Met also projected thunderstorms for some regions.

In particular, for Nairobi and the Mt Kenya counties, Kenya Met noted that rains and thunderstorms would likely be experienced in the afternoons for the five days.

Morning showers have also been projected for Saturday, Tuesday and Wednesday with cloudy intervals on Sunday and Monday.

Likewise, in Siaya, Kisumu, Homabay, Migori, Kisii, Nyamira, Trans Nzoia, Baringo, Uasin Gishu, Elgeyo-Marakwet, Nandi, Nakuru, Narok, Kericho, Bomet, Kakamega, Vihiga, Bungoma, Busia and West Pokot Counties, thunderstorms are also likely to be witnessed in the afternoons.

The 20 counties will also witness morning showers for the five days.

Notably, the weather projections also cover Naivasha where Kenya is hosting the 2025 World Rally Championship (WRC).

At the Coast - including Mombasa, Kilifi, Lamu and Kwale Counties, Kenyans can expect showers in some places in the morning, afternoon and evening.

However, no thunderstorms were projected for these areas.

On the other hand, residents of Marsabit, Mandera, Wajir, Garissa and Isiolo counties were advised to prepare for rain for the five days with thunderstorms projected for the afternoons.

Similar weather patterns are also expected in the Southeastern lowlands region which includes Kitui, Makueni, Machakos, Kajiado and Taita Taveta Counties.
