The tanker rolled on the road on Saturday morning, sparking a fire.

Two firefighters who showed up at an explosion scene at a spot on the Muhoroni-Londiani Highway turned into casualties in their efforts to quell the fire.

A tanker ferrying a petroleum product overturned on the highway, immediately parking a fire at the scene.

The fighters were the first responders among the onlookers who had showed at the scene near the Ushirika shopping centre.

Photos from the scene spotted by Nairobi Leo displayed the tanker going up in flames as onlookers watched from a distance.

St John's Ambulance deployed its emergency response team to complement the efforts of the first responders.

The accident occurred months after locals of Moi's Bridge, Uasin Gishu County, were left counting losses after their property was reduced to ashes in another fire tragedy.

An explosion on Saturday dawn, January 18, sparked a fire that burnt all their wares.

According to sources, the inferno was instigated by a gas explosion.

In a video seen by Nairobi Leo, traders are seen striving to salvage some of their property before the fire intensified.

Police and other responders from the county emergency department later showed up at the scene at the time of publication.
