Morara suggested the values he stands for don't align with those of Gachagua.

Political activist and presidential aspirant Morara Kebaso has once again expressed his dissent against former deputy president Rigathi Gachagua.

This is despite their recent meetups in which they resolved to work together for purposes of the 2027 elections.

The youthful politician, however, seems to have had a Damascus moment, now renouncing his association with Gachagua.

Morara seemed to have been irked by Gachagua's political rhetoric, which is apparently founded on the ethnic identation of voters.

He referenced a speech in which Gachagua declared that the electorate that forms the GEMA axis must have a say in all the regimes.

In his assessment, Morara established that Gachagua's style of politics is fuelled by tribalism, an aspect he said he is strongly opposed to as a young politician.

He said that while he appreciates the need for all opposition politicians to join forces, he finds it untenable to associate with politicians who lack values.

"Leaders of the opposition should unite. I agree 100%. But what is the glue that will hold us together? Do we have shared values? Are we uniting to replace the problem with another problem? How do we give every Kenyan the confidence that we represent a bright future with a stable economy? How do I convince Gen Zs that this speech by a leader of such great influence is the change they were fighting for?  I found it difficult to continue associating the Gen Z movement with this," he said.

Morara has expressed his interest in vying for the presidency in the 2027 elections.

Gachagua, on his part, has restated often that the Mt. Kenya region will solidly be in the next administration after President William Ruto's, regardless of his unsuitability to vie for the presidency, having been an impeached person.

Others in Gachagua's fold are Wiper leader Kalonzo Musyoka, PLP's Martha Karua, and DAP Kenya's Eugene Wamalwa.

Ruto has, however, dismissed the formation, saying they have nothing on him given that their sole agenda is to unseat him at the expense of development.
