Kakamega Senator Boni Khalwale has called on President William Ruto to honor his promises to the Western region.
Speaking on Saturday, April 5, Khalwale said the President has promised the region roads for the past three years, yet none have been constructed.
The UDA Senator urged President Ruto to tell them what project he is doing in the Western region instead of making promises.
“Your excellency, we respect you, and we voted for you. I am the one who brought you to Luhya land. We now want, when we meet with you, don't tell us what you plan to do, but what you are doing.
“You have promised roads for the past three years, yet the story remains the same: 'We will do them'. That is not the kind of politics we can depend on. We want politics that deliver,” said Khalwale.

At the same time, Khalwale claimed that the President skipped the Western region and gave a Level 6 hospital to Kisumu County.
The Kakamega Senator urged President Ruto to use his close ties with National Assembly Speaker Moses Wetang’ula, Prime Cabinet Secretary Musalia Mudavadi, and himself to extend development projects to the Luhya community.
“You skipped us and gave the Luos a level 6 hospital in Kisumu and leaving us behind, even though we are ahead in supporting you. Luhya land is not an extension of any other community.
"If the Nyanza community benefits because of your friendship with Raila, I want the Luhya people to also benefit because of your friendship with Khalwale, Mudavadi, and Wetang’ula,” he added.
