Ruto mentioned that walling on the stadium is already underway, and equipping and finishing works are set to begin.
He also noted the positive impact the project has had on employment, with over 3,300 youth currently engaged in the construction.
"Walling on the 60,000-seater facility that has employed more than 3,300 youth has started with the equipping and finishes set to begin soon.
"With this pace of working, the Talanta Sports City will be ready for use by the end of this year," he added.

The facility is being built to FIFA standards and will have a seating capacity of 60,000 spectators, making it suitable for major football and rugby matches.
Unlike traditional stadiums that include a running track, Talanta Sports City will focus purely on football and rugby, with separate adjacent fields catering to athletics.
Construction of the stadium began with a groundbreaking ceremony on March 1, 2024, and the project is expected to be completed by December 2025.
The project is being carried out by China Road and Bridge Corporation (CRBC) under the supervision of the Kenya Defence Forces Engineering Department.

Speaking during the groundbreaking ceremony, Ruto expressed his satisfaction with the project's location and emphasized the government's commitment to completing the facility on schedule.
He highlighted the collaboration between the Ministry of Sports and the Ministry of Defence to ensure the stadium is built to world-class standards, leveraging military discipline.
"I have agreed with the ministries, and that is why the Ministry of Sports and the Ministry of Defence are also represented here because we want this stadium to be built to world-class standard using military discipline.
"I will expect our defense team, Aden Duale (CS at the time), the CDF, and the team to make sure all the timelines we have agreed are kept by the contractor and I expect that there will be supervision every week, every two weeks and I will be here myself every three months until this facility is completed," he said.
