Two people have been found guilty of the 2013 Westgate Mall terror attack.

On Wednesday Chief magistrate Francis Andayi found Mohamed Abdul and Hussein Mustafa guilty of conspiring to and aiding the gunmen who carried out the attack.

Another suspect Liban Abdullah Omar was acquitted for lack of evidence.

They faced 12 counts related to commission of a terrorist act, conspiracy to commit a terrorist act, giving support to a terrorist group and being in the country illegally.

Westgate Mall Attack

Terror group Al-Shabaab, which is based in Somalia, claimed responsibility for the attack that caused a four-day siege.

At least 67 people were killed and more than 100 others injured in the Westgate Mall attack in Nairobi.

The three face 12 counts related to commission of a terrorist act, conspiracy to commit a terrorist act, giving support to a terrorist group and being in the country illegally.

More than 145 witnesses testified against the accused persons.
