The temporary disruption will affect all KRA systems at the Kilindini Port, rendering them inaccessible.

The Kenya Revenue Authority (KRA) has announced a planned system outage at Kilindini Port scheduled for Thursday, May 1.

In a public notice on Wednesday, April 30, KRA said the outage is set to last the entire day as part of a fiber migration exercise aimed at enhancing the agency’s digital infrastructure.

"On Thursday, 1st May 2025, KRA systems at Kilindini Port will be inaccessible from 00:00 hrs to 23:59 hrs to facilitate a fiber migration exercise," the notice read.

According to KRA, the temporary disruption will affect all its systems at the Kilindini Port, rendering them inaccessible for the full 24-hour period.

The notice emphasized that all Kilindini stations would be impacted, and both internal and external stakeholders should prepare accordingly.

"Systems affected: All KRA systems will not be accessible at Kilindini Port. Sites affected: All Kilindini Stations,” the notice added.

Those directly impacted include KRA staff based at the port, as well as clearing and shipping agents operating within the Kilindini premises. 

As such, the authority has advised all stakeholders to plan their operations in advance to minimize the inconvenience.

"We sincerely regret any inconvenience caused," the notice concluded.
