Projects are to be done by students in Grades 3,7,8, and 9.

The Kenya National Examination Council (KNEC) has warned schools against delays in uploading CBC projects done by students in 2025.

In a notice dated Monday, May 12, KNEC stated that it would fine schools Ksh500 for every project that is uploaded after the deadline.

KNEC was referring to the projects that will be done with the students in Grades 3,7, and 8.

Grade 9 students are also expected to do their projects this year as they prepare to transition to Grade 10 (Senior Secondary School).

"The projects and performance tasks for Grades 3, 7, and 8, stage-based pathway and KJSEA have been uploaded on the CBA portal (https//cba.knec.ac.ke) for access by schools," read the notice in part.

"The schools are expected to administer the projects and performance tasks and upload scores of all learners on the portal within the stipulated timeframes."

Deadlines

According to KNEC, all projects, including marks for students in Grades 3, 7 and 8, have to be uploaded by July 31, 2025.

Equally, projects of students in the Grade 9 - Kenya Junior Secondary Education Assessment (KJSEA) candidates have to be uploaded by August 30, 2025.

"A penalty of Kshs 500 per candidate will be imposed for any KJSEA project uploads made after the specified date," KNEC warned.
