Former Public Service CS Justin Muturi has revealed that he has not spoken to President William Ruto since January 3, 2025.

According to the former CS's statement issued on Thursday, May 15, Ruto stopped picking his calls after the burial of the son of former Embu Senator Lenny Kivuti.

He expressed that he did not miss it, adding that he only used to speak with the President when it was necessary.

"President Ruto stopped picking my calls after the funeral of Lenny Kivuti's son. We haven't spoken since, and I don't miss it,' he stated.

"I only used to call him when it was absolutely necessary. So I said, to hell with it! He is not someone I cannot live without."

Notably, during the January funeral in Embu, residents refused to listen to Ruto's speech.

Ruto had sent his message of condolence to the family of the senator through Muturi. However, when Muturi rose to read the message, the residents refused to listen.

This was the time when Billy Mwangi and some other Kenyans were still missing following their abduction.

At the funeral, Muturi also raised concerns over the abductions, while wondering why the government was claiming not to know who was behind the abductions.

"We must own up to our own inefficiencies where they are pointed out or where they occur. We cannot be here saying the great things of a young soul, then the other day, others are being taken every day. We cannot say we don’t know. We are the government. I am actually surprised," he stated.
