Most outages will occur from 9 AM to 5 PM.

Kenya Power has listed several areas across the country that will experience power outages on Friday, May 16, to facilitate planned maintenance works. 

In a statement on Thursday, May 15, the company said the outages will affect areas within Mt. Kenya, North Rift, Western, and Coast.

In the North Rift region, areas within Uasin Gishu and Nandi counties will be affected. 

In Uasin Gishu, residents of Moiben Centre, Chebororwa, Kabomoi, Kokwet, Kapsigilai, Koitugum, Meibeki, Lower Moiben, Kiborom, and surrounding areas will experience a blackout from 8 AM to 5 PM. 

Similarly, in Nandi County, areas including Tulwo, Kimungoror, and Chepterwai will be without power between 9 AM and 5 PM.

In the Western region, parts of Kakamega County, particularly Matungu and its environs such as Koyonzo, Munami, Ejinja, and Kholeva, will be affected. 

The outage is scheduled to occur from 9 AM to 5 PM.

The Mt. Kenya region will also face interruptions, with Murang’a and Kiambu counties among the affected areas. 

In Murang’a County, areas around Kayole Market, Mananja Market, Makuyu Mugira, Muli Farm, Ndela Kakuzi, Shell Makuyu, Magunas Makuyu, and Makuyu Girls will be affected between 9 AM and 5 PM. 

In Kiambu County, parts of Limuru Town, including Karanjee, Kwambira, Kamirithu, Tharuini, StephJoy Boys, Rwacumaria, Kamonoru, Ndiuni, Nyataragi, Thigio, Gichungo, and Kiriri will also be without power during the same period. 

Mai Mahiu and its neighboring areas, including River Springs Hotel, Mayers, Namja, China Wu-Yi, Gold Stone Quarry, Manyata Quarry, Yellow Stones Quarry, Kingston Quarry, Ewaso Kedong Market, Najire Girls, and Earth Station, will experience an outage from 8 AM to 5 PM.

In the Coast region, parts of Mombasa County, specifically Bombolulu, will also be affected, with establishments such as Naivas Supermarket Bombolulu, Kisimani, and Makaburini will be impacted from 9 AM to 5 PM.
