In a statement on Saturday, May 24, the National Police Service (NPS) said the 5 suspects were nabbed following a targeted police operation in Kitale town.

The operation remains active as efforts continue to trace additional individuals linked to the incident. The arrested suspects are currently in custody and are assisting police with investigations,” NPS added.

This comes days after 14 individuals were also arrested in connection with the vandalization of EACC vehicles at Natembeya’s home.

The suspects include Leon Ikua, Brian Mutonyi, James Maina, Churchill Ambula, Chirispus Kingara, Joseph Kakanja, Daniel Kanyingi and Levy Kiprotich.

On Monday, May 19, during a raid at Natembeya's home, rowdy youth destroyed several cars that EACC detectives were using.

During the incident, which occurred outside Natembeya's residence in Milimani Estate, the windows of the SUVs were completely smashed. The youth also managed to access the vehicles' interiors and damage the car seats.
