Inspector General of Police Douglas Kanja has revealed that the police have identified questionable differences between the location where Juja MP George Koimburi was found and the video that was circulating online.
In a statement dated Tuesday, May 27, Kanja highlighted that detectives analysed the video, which was shared online, and identified notable differences in the landscape.
Kanja stated that a caretaker of the farm where Koimburi was found also denied seeing anything.
"Police officers from Juja swiftly responded, visiting the alleged scene and thoroughly documenting the area. Upon comparing the vegetation and road dimensions at the scene with those in the video, it was established that the two did not match," Kanja revealed
"During questioning, Moses Kariuki, the caretaker of the coffee farm which is owned by one Jimmy Wanjigi, stated that he had not witnessed such an incident."

According to police, the MP was driven to the hospital using his own vehicle.
Attempts to question the hospital where the MP received first aid also proved futile.
"The officers then proceeded to Plainview Hospital in Ruiru, where the Member of Parliament had reportedly been taken for treatment. They confirmed that the vehicle used to transport him, registration number KCJ 660P, belonged to Hon. George Koimburi and was driven by Frida Njeri, who was also the first responder at the alleged crime scene.
"The hospital did not disclose the nature of the treatment or first aid administered, making it difficult to assess the extent of the alleged injuries," the IG indicated in his statement.
Kanja added that detectives were denied access to the MP, who he stated would be questioned when they get the opportunity.
Earlier, police had dismissed reports that they were responsible for the abductions.
On his part, former Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua claimed that the police statement was meant to cover up the abductions.
"The cornered William Ruto has ordered his praise and worship teams in the National Assembly and the Senate to table the motions this afternoon and try to blame Rigathi Gachagua for the atrocities against the people of Kenya," Gachagua noted in his statement.
"You can fool some people some time, but you can’t fool all the people all the time. Kenyans are not that gullible."
