Kenya Military Academy Deputy Commandant Brigadier Peter Kimondiu commended the cadets for their achievement.
“It is a great honour to celebrate the selection of these cadets to train at two of the most prestigious US military institutions. Your discipline and hard work have brought you this far,” he said.
Kimondiu also urged the cadets to prepare for the challenges ahead and remain committed to their goals.
“Greater challenges lie ahead, but so do greater opportunities. Apply yourselves fully and represent Kenya with pride," he added.
Kimondiu noted that their selection reflects both personal effort and the continued cooperation between the Kenya Defence Forces and the United States military.
Speaking in an interview on Tuesday, May 27, Langley praised the KDF for its role in restoring peace through various missions within Africa.
"The KDF has a reputation in East Africa as a leader and security exporter. They are an anchor country in a few iterations such as the African Union Mission to Somalia (AMISOM) and now the African Union Transition Mission in Somalia (ATMIS).
"I met with President Hassan Sheikh Mohamed and he speaks highly of the brothers and sisters at the border in Somalia from Kenya," he said.
