“What should scare Ruto now is that 75% of Kenyans don't believe in his leadership."

Saboti MP Caleb Amisi has issued a warning to President William Ruto following the latest TIFA opinion poll, which painted a bleak picture of the president's approval ratings.

In a brief statement on Wednesday, May 28, Amisi said the findings should be a wake-up call to Ruto as Kenyans increasingly lose confidence in his administration.

The MP pointed out that Ruto has limited time to redeem his image, noting that the coming financial year could be his last chance to turn things around.

“What should scare Ruto now is that 75% of Kenyans don't believe in his leadership. He has only one remaining financial year to the next election.

"How he intends to reduce this to 49.9% is the biggest miracle ever happened to any nation on planet Earth, including the Vatican city,” he added.

A recent survey by TIFA highlighted growing public dissatisfaction with the country's direction, with a significant majority of Kenyans expressing concern over the state of national affairs.

According to the findings, 75 percent of respondents believe Kenya is headed in the wrong direction, while only 14 per cent said the country is on the right track.

An additional 11 percent either had no opinion or chose not to respond.

"Asked about the country’s current direction, a sizeable majority of Kenyans believe that it is ‘wrong’, five times more than the fewer than one-fifth of a contrary (positive) view. This leaves the remainder either with no clear opinion about this reality or who are unwilling to express one,” the survey stated.

At the same time, TIFA asked Kenyans whether they support the government; 54 percent of Kenyans expressed that they do not support the current framework.

25 percent of Kenyans noted that they do not have any opinion, while 22 percent indicated that they support the government, which was formed after the Gen Z protests.

"Across the country, support for the BBG is highest in the President’s home zone of the Central Rift (37%) and lowest in the Mt. Kenya and the Lower Eastern zones, the home areas of his former/impeached DP Rigathi Gachagua and Azimio/ODM leader Kalonzo Musyoka, respectively (13% and 12%).

"Evidently, a reflection of former Prime Minister Odinga’s now-cordial relations with the Kenya Kwanza government and the presence of several senior ODM figures within it, residents of Nyanza give the BBG its third-highest level of support in regional terms," the survey read.
