Lawyer Ndegwa Njiru has challenged the Inspector General of Police, Douglas Kanja, to prove that Juja MP George Koimburi staged his abduction.
Speaking on Friday, May 30, Njiru wondered why the police were still holding the vehicles, which were allegedly used in the abduction.
He alleged that the MP's driver was tortured during police interrogation.
"If it is true that you are completely dissociating yourselves from this heinous act, why are you still holding that motor vehicle? Why did you torture the driver to Koimburi? Can you still claim that Koimburi abducted himself?" Njiru posed.
"We want to hold you to account. You are aware of what is happening. Your people are behind these processes, and if your people are not behind them, come and answer those questions."

On his part, Gatanga MP Edward Muriu claimed that Koimburi was being used to target former Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua.
According to the lawyer, the government was targeting allies of the former DP to dismantle the opposition.
"The vigour to suppress and abduct leaders who do not agree with the Kenya Kwanza administration is on a higher gear. This is meant to make sure that our resolve is gone," he stated.
"The ultimate goal, which we are aware of, is to arrest Rigathi Gachagua."
Earlier in the week, Kanja reported that police established that the abduction was staged by the MP and his allies.
This led to the arrest of three individuals. Additionally, police have arrested Murang'a MCA Grace Nduta.
"One suspect, Karanja Gatana, has been arrested. Gatana admitted to dropping the MP at a hotel where he had refreshments and spent the night with the two abductors on 25 May 2025, following the alleged abduction," Kanja announced.
"He added that, on 26 May 2025, while using Kiratu's vehicle, he picked up the MP from the hotel and took him to the scene where they claimed he had been dumped. Before the MP exited the vehicle, he helped him tear his clothes to fake evidence of torture by the alleged abductors."
